The winner will be announced tonight.

Our next step is to bring X-Dance to Tahoe. I’ll keep you updated on the details.

P.S. The snow here is great but I keep hearing Tahoe has been getting a foot everyday!

This will certainly prove to be the best, worst show in Tahoe in a long time. Maybe Vanilla Ice will make a surprise guest appearance.

For less than $50 you can see Tahoe from a helicopter with HeliTahoe. Give the owner, Claudio, a call at [530] 544.2211 and tell him we sent you to receive 10% off.

From a birds eye view, some of what you will see is Emerald Bay, Mt Tallac, Desolation Wilderness and the deep blue and green colors of Lake Tahoe.

You can do more than a scenic ride, why not get married up there? Brings a whole new meaning to the “mile high club”…

If you have a club, group or corporate outing bring them all up. HeliTahoe has several helicopters and can accommodate your crew. Plus with your headset you’ll be able to talk to your friends in the other helicopters as if they are sitting next to you.

I don’t know about you, but when I get to the Reno Airport, although the drive is beautiful, I can’t wait to get to Tahoe. So why not take a helicopter? There will be enough room for five of you. It works out to about $125 a person each way; a lot less than a taxi. And way cooler.

So call Claudio at [530] 544.2211 or visit the HeliTahoe website http://www.helitahoe.com/. Don’t forget to mention 968 Park Hotel to get your discount!

The weather said something about 2-4 inches. Well been there, done that already; and that’s a lake level. I’m still trying to figure out how Heavenly got it to dump for their opening day. I know they have the west coast’s largest snowmaking system but really?

It is supposed to stop snowing around 2AM so the roads should be ready for you when you wake up.  Visit http://www.968parkhotel.com/contact.php and click on the “Current Road Conditions” link and you will see a live map of road controls. All the roads are still open.

So come on up and get your carve on at Heavenly then walk over to the hotel and get 50% off a room night.

Heavenly is going to be open November 20th. Well that the official rumor. They won’t open on a thin strip of snow. It needs to be treeline to treeline, mid-winter like conditions. That’s a good thing, you can leave the rock skis at home and expect great skiing and riding. As Heavenly has the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system you can be sure the best early conditions will be here. For those of you how don’t already know, the Heavenly Gondola is closer to our hotel than most of Heavenly’s parking is to their own lifts.

We are still 50% off. So ski and stay for less, 50% less. See ya sooner than later…

A glider ride is an amazing way to see Tahoe. It starts with SoaringNV in Minden, NV, located about 25 minutes from 968 Park Hotel. Climb into the glider and feel the rush of taking off toward the Sierra Nevada Mountains as you are pulled bu the tow plane. The pilot will point out Genoa, Nevada’s first town. Heavenly Ski Resort and Carson City. Highlights of gold aspen accent the valley’s all over the mountains. You will crest the mountains and there is big blue Lake Tahoe! I’ve seen Lake Tahoe from the water, the beach, the mountains, the ski resorts and although they are all amazing, but nothing beats the view from the glider.

I could see every trail at Heavenly and was picking out my ski lines for this winter! We could see 968 Park Hotel, Emerald Bay, Falling leaf Lake, Mt. Tallac and the Caribbean like blue colors of the lake.

We were released from the tow plane and floated over the mountains for another 20 minutes. On our way back we asked for the “eRide”… The glider pilot drove us down hard and it felt like we were weightless. Then a hard up turn. You could feel the G-Force pulling you down into your seat. Then the finally earth, sky, earth… yup a full back flip. Let em tell you, after that any amusement park ride is going to just seem silly.

Unfortunately it was time to land. We landed smoother than any commercial jet I’ve ever been on. Of course lots of pictures and believe it or not, my lunch stayed put the whole time!

I’m convinced that when you come to Tahoe, you should go on a glider ride first. It helps you get oriented, appreciate the enormity of the lake and it can be a relaxing or exhilarating, you get to decide. Plus it cost about the same as a day of skiing for two and way less then a night of gambling…

Visit www.soaringNV.com and use promo code “968Park” and you will get $20 off of your flight.
