The X-Dance Film Festival hosted its VIP party here at 968 Park Hotel. It was one of the highlights of the event and Warren Miller and Tara Dakites where here hanging out and chatting with our guests.

The X-Dance Film Festival was filled with stunning movies and interviews with producers and actors. Parks Bonifay was on hand and in a tear jerking moment Tara Dakites presented Warren Miller with the lifetime achievement award.

You’ll be skiing corn snow also known as “hero snow” because when you are skiing it you feel like a hero. This snow is really second only to fresh powder. Then after a day of skiing in a light jacket or T-shirt, you recline out on Snow Beach and have a beer or few.

Now don’t let all the warm weather mislead you into thinking the snow is going fast.  As of today Kirkwood still has a 136-190 inch base. Heavenly just extended there closing date to April 25!

Phil was a good friend of the 968 Park Hotel. When he would come up he’d always be excited to get “his” room which we unofficially call the “Captain Phil Suite.” That was actually Phil’s idea.

We’ll miss the drinks, the gambling and late nights but will cherish the memories. We especially want to wish Phil’s family and  friends our absolute best. We hang our heads as we raise our glasses.

The winner will be announced tonight.

Our next step is to bring X-Dance to Tahoe. I’ll keep you updated on the details.

P.S. The snow here is great but I keep hearing Tahoe has been getting a foot everyday!
