Well been there, done that already; and that’s a lake level. I’m still trying to figure out how Heavenly got it to dump for their opening day. I know they have the west coast’s largest snowmaking system but really?

It is supposed to stop snowing around 2AM so the roads should be ready for you when you wake up.  Visit http://www.968parkhotel.com/contact.php and click on the “Current Road Conditions” link and you will see a live map of road controls. All the roads are still open.

Well that the official rumor. They won’t open on a thin strip of snow. It needs to be treeline to treeline, mid-winter like conditions. That’s a good thing, you can leave the rock skis at home and expect great skiing and riding. As Heavenly has the West Coast’s largest snowmaking system you can be sure the best early conditions will be here. For those of you how don’t already know, the Heavenly Gondola is closer to our hotel than most of Heavenly’s parking is to their own lifts.
